First, we collect the initial raw tick data from DukasCopy. The process is lengthy and takes hours. Once it is done, we parse the raw tick data into bar data in binary format.

Then we compose the base data series for periods: M1, M5, M15, and M30 and cut them up to bars. We periodically download the new data and update the local base files. After that, we upload the precompiled data to our online server. The Historical Forex Data application loads the precompiled data fix the timezone and compose the necessary files for download. This process guarantees forex data availability and excellent user experience. When you are ready with the options, click the Load data button. We recommend you to download the files for all the periods because it makes the generating strategies and the backtesting more convenient. You have to accomplish two steps - to import the data files in EA Studio and to customise the symbols settings. Customize the Symbols Settings.

US dollar exchange rates

Online sources
Toggle navigation forex software. Please use a browser that supports the iFrame technology! On this page you can find the best print and electronic sources for historical exchange rates. Most web sources for historical rates only give figures for the working week. If you are looking for an end of month rate and enter the last day of a month in a given year, it may show up as unavailable if that day fell on a weekend.
The tables for the last five years are available from the FT Data Archive subscription required. The Pacific Exchange Rate Service offers an extensive range of current and historical exchange rate data.
Exchange Rates
The service is provided by Professor Antweiler of the University of British Columbia's Sauder School of Business and is primarily for the academic community. The rates start in but complete data sets will not be available for every currency. The Database Retrieval System allows you to select a base currency, a target currency, time span, volume or price notation and a frequency of figures within that daily, weekly or monthly.
Data can be downloaded in a variety of formats. The site also publishes annual reference charts for 24 currencies against the US dollar, Canadian dollar and pound sterling. Oanda is a commercial website providing foreign exchange and information services for currencies.
Official Daily Exchange Rates
The data range generally begins in but the start point varies for each currency. Note that the rates provided by Oanda are averages of figures gathered from Telerate, Bridge, and Reuters rather than being closing market prices. The Interactive Currency Table covers 79 world currencies with data going back to 1st January The Bank publishes exchange rates through their Statistical Interactive Database.
The site provides monthly, quarterly and annual tables going back to January ; they can be downloaded in various formats.
This function does not return a table; it returns an array. If we try and connect to this array as a data source, it will not be brought into our cube correctly because it is not a table.
Free Forex Historical Data
We need to convert this array to a table. We will do this by automating a process of paste as values to a new sheet. For this use case, I'll set the Macro to run daily between 1 and 2 am. This way when my build starts at 3 am, it will refer to the updated data.
