Help: Swing trading forex. While trying to day trade forex, I seem to predict the right outcome, but jump in to early and my stop losses get wiped out before the big.

By the time I have it, I'll be well studied and practiced with paper trading. Day trading has been a passion of mine since Worked as an engineer for 7. Unfortunately the plant was announced to shut down only 2 months into that job. The company gave me a pretty generous severance package considering the small amount of time I work there which started in June. Although I absolutely love the lifestyle this profession has given me, it's not for everybody. I put a LOT of hours in every week and have invested thousands of hours into it since I'd say the barrier to entry is much higher that most other high-paying professions. I found most people burn out pretty fast, even the friend who got me into day trading markets didn't last long. He still hasn't told me the full details of what happened, I think he may of lost a lot of money. From trading for the past ten years, do you have any insight or lessons for a novice trader? Aside from the money, the lifestyle of the profession appeals to me as well.

I dread the idea of working in a cubicle for the rest of my days. Have you ever felt burnt out or getting close to that point? That it did, no regrets! My dad had spent a good part of his career at this power station as lead engineer, so it was a little sad to see it shut down.

Focus on your strategies, it's ok to borrow other strategies and learn from them, but always ensure the focus is on yours whatever they might end up being. How much time this takes depends highly on the individual.

I've spent hundreds of hours on a single strategy before, while another took a fraction of the time. Keep in mind markets do change over time, so having a toolbox of strategies will allow you to adapt to market conditions. The good news is human emotions will always drive the markets, They will always display greed and fear and the methods at which market-makers manipulate the markets by taking advantage of this will likely never change. So a good strategy should only need to be tweaked.

It's less about profits per day and more about managing risk, if you can conserve your capital and remain consistent, money will come naturally and the amount of money you can make is only limited by the liquidity of market you are trading. It is a huge plus, I have no boss, I can't even say my clients are my boss because I have none of those either.

Although one could argue the markets are your boss! This week I am working away from home at a friends place while they are on vacation. Right now I'm typing this sitting on their deck with a degree mountainous view. Sometimes a string of losses This is guaranteed to happen can begin to allow some emotion to creep in, as a result I may take a little time off. We are not computers after all, what is important is that you trust your strategy and continue to trade after you've "recovered". A lot of times I take this opportunity to learn and expand my knowledge.

Also another note often overlooked, keep your body and mind healthy! Can I ask where is the first website to go to get started studying daytrade? How much money to start with etc.? I do that but with crypto. I discovered a group that discuss and gives signals for day trading.

Most aren't able to. Lots of people quit their day jobs to trade crypto; and almost all are regretting it. Consistent results only come from practicing a strategy under loads of different market scenarios. That takes time and should involve making hundreds of trades in a demo account before risking real capital. Choosing day trading or swing trading also comes down to personality. Day trading typically involves more stress, requires sustained focus for extended periods, and takes incredible discipline. People that like action, have fast reflexes, or like video games and poker tend to gravitate toward day trading.

Swing trading happens at a slower pace, with much longer lapses between actions like entering or exiting trades. It can still be high stress, and also requires immense discipline and patience. It doesn't require as much sustained focus, so if you have difficulty staying focused, swing trading may be the better option. Fast reflexes don't matter in swing trading as trades can be taken after the market closes and prices have stopped moving. Day trading and swing trading both offer freedom in the sense that a trader is their boss. Traders typically work on their own. They are responsible for funding their accounts and for all losses and profits generated.

One can argue that swing traders have more freedom because swing trading takes up less time than day trading. One trading style isn't better than the other; they just suit differing needs.

Day trading has more profit potential, at least in percentage terms on smaller-sized trading accounts. Swing traders have a better chance of maintaining their percentage returns even as their account grows, up to a certain point. Capital requirements vary quite a bit across the different markets and trading styles. Day trading requires more time than swing trading, while both take a great deal of practice to gain consistency. Day trading makes the best option for action lovers. Those seeking a lower-stress and less time-intensive option can embrace swing trading.
